About this coloring page
A line of skaters bent low on a frozen canal at first light, a wooden bridge crowded with spectators above them, a church tower and pollard willows on the bank. The Elfstedentocht has not been held since 1997 and half the country still checks the ice every winter. The long low posture of the skaters gives the page its rhythm; keep the sky pale and the ice paler.
Printing tips
Set your printer to “fit to page” and turn off headers and footers. Ordinary 80 gsm paper is fine for pencils; use 120 gsm or heavier if you colour with markers so the ink does not bleed through.
