About this coloring page
Five stages left to right, with the soil line running the whole width so you can see the roots as well as the tree: acorn, sprout, seedling, sapling, full oak. Drawing what happens below ground is the part most versions leave out, and it is the part children find most surprising. The mature oak at the end is where the detail is; the early stages are quick.
Printing tips
Set your printer to “fit to page” and turn off headers and footers. Ordinary 80 gsm paper is fine for pencils; use 120 gsm or heavier if you colour with markers so the ink does not bleed through.
