The Gingerbread Cottage
The gingerbread cottage in its clearing, walls tiled with biscuits, icing piped along every edge, two small figures standing in front of it deciding what to do. This is the most detailed fairy-tale page in the set: every sweet on the roof is its own little region, so it rewards an afternoon rather than ten minutes. Suits older children and adults. A restrained palette on the cottage and a dark forest behind makes it genuinely eerie.
Printing tips
Set your printer to “fit to page” and turn off headers and footers. Ordinary 80 gsm paper is fine for pencils; use 120 gsm or heavier if you colour with markers so the ink does not bleed through.
